Police arrest robbery suspect in Chisumbanje

CHISUMBANJE - Police have arrested a 40-year-old man, Vengai Chivange, in connection with a violent robbery that occurred in Checheche, Chipinge, on October 9, 2025.

According to police, Chivange and an accomplice - still at large - attacked a woman and her daughter in a bushy area, accusing her of picking up lost money.

The suspects allegedly stole USD 3,300, ZAR 15,400, and a ZTE cellphone. Police have since recovered USD 1,050, ZAR 5,700, and the stolen phone.

Investigations are ongoing as authorities pursue the second suspect.
