The Mutoko Rural District Council has commended entrepreneur Tawanda Kabasa for his transformative contributions to rural industrialisation and tourism in Mashonaland East, particularly through Valley Fresh Farm and PaBuja Resort.

Ward 21 Councillor Sanny Kabichi praised Kabasa's chicken farming enterprise, which boasts a production capacity of over 120,000 birds every six weeks and employs more than 200 locals. "Initiatives like Valley Fresh Farm are instrumental in driving rural development and contributing to the country's vision of achieving an upper-middle-income economy by 2030," Kabichi said.

Kabasa's PaBuja Resort is also gaining attention as a rural tourism hub, showcasing Mutoko's natural beauty and generating income for the local economy.

Operations Manager Brian Kanyongo emphasized the company's commitment to empowering communities and curbing substance abuse by offering meaningful employment. Managing Director Jonathan Chikasha added that Valley Fresh Farm is bridging the rural-urban divide by introducing modern infrastructure and services to rural areas, in line with President Mnangagwa's rural industrialisation and devolution agenda.

The initiative aligns with Zimbabwe's National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1), and has earned widespread praise from community members and local leadership for its tangible impact on livelihoods and regional development.
