Daring teenager steals from cop

A 17-year-old male has landed in serious trouble after allegedly breaking into a female police officer’s residence at Plumtree Police Station and stealing cash in multiple currencies.
Due to ethical considerations, the minor’s identity has not been disclosed. He appeared before Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware and was remanded in custody until October 20.
According to the State, led by prosecutor Sheila Nyathi, the incident occurred on October 11. The teenager reportedly stole US$230, ZAR 300, and BWP 150 before fleeing the scene. He was later apprehended following police investigations.
The case has sparked concern over security breaches within police residential areas and the growing trend of youth involvement in crime. Further proceedings are expected as the court prepares to hear the full matter.
