A 31-year-old Epworth woman has been remanded in custody after allegedly stabbing her husband during a domestic dispute, leaving him with life-threatening injuries.

Tafadzwa Mandaza appeared before Harare magistrate Marewanazvo Gofa on Thursday, facing charges of attempted murder. She was advised to seek bail at the High Court, with the matter remanded to November 12.

Prosecutor Rufaro Chonzi told the court that the couple, followers of the Apostolic sect Johanne Masowe Yenguwotsvuku, conduct church-related activities from their homestead.

The incident reportedly occurred on 23 October 2025, following a disagreement over the sale of property to settle a debt. Mandaza allegedly lost her temper during the argument and stabbed her husband, Abraham Chirivhayo, 35, in the stomach, causing his intestines to protrude.

The case remains under investigation as authorities continue to assess the circumstances surrounding the attack.
