CCC MP Hwende Commends President Mnangagwa for Recognizing ZINARA’s Accountability Progress

Citizen Coalition for Change (CCC) legislator Chalton Hwende has praised President Emmerson Mnangagwa for naming the Zimbabwe National Roads Authority (ZINARA) as the country's top-performing parastatal, citing improved accountability and financial oversight.
Speaking in Parliament, Hwende acknowledged the role of the Public Accounts Committee in scrutinizing ZINARA’s finances, which previously led to arrests over mismanagement. He credited the committee's work for transforming ZINARA into a more transparent and efficient institution.
"I would like to thank His Excellency the President. He nominated it as the number one parastatal, which means that the work is being done well," Hwende said, urging the House to adopt the committee’s report on ZINARA's audited financial statements for 2023.
The motion was put forward and adopted, marking a rare moment of bipartisan recognition for institutional reform within Zimbabwe’s state-owned enterprises.
