Pavillon bus involved in a serious accident

Several people are feared dead after a Pavillion bus travelling from Karanda, Mt Darwin, to Harare was involved in a serious accident early this morning.
Although police could not be drawn to comment on the incident, an eyewitness, Mr. Richard Mwandira, said the bus suffered a tyre burst before it overturned near a bridge in Madziva.
"I arrived at the scene soon after the accident, which occurred around 5am this morning," said Mr. Mwandira.
"The bus was travelling from Karanda to Harare. Its tyre burst at a bridge near Madziva and it overturned. When I got to the scene, several people were trapped in the bus, waiting for help."
Rescue teams and police are reported to be at the scene, working to free the trapped passengers and attend to the injured.
The exact number of casualties remains unconfirmed, but witnesses say the crash appeared "very serious."
Authorities are expected to release an official statement once investigations into the cause of the accident are complete.
