Mkwasine Woman Arrested for Murder of Daughter

MWKASINE - Police in Mkwasine have arrested a 35‑year‑old woman in connection with the murder of her three‑year‑old daughter at Village 2, Fair Range.
The suspect, Geviza Fadzai, was taken into custody following investigations into the incident, which occurred on 25 November.
According to police, Fadzai allegedly stabbed her daughter on the neck with a knife before telling a neighbour that the child had been attacked by four unknown assailants. She later went to the village head, claiming the child had died of natural causes.
The offence came to light during burial arrangements when a deep cut was observed on the victim's neck, prompting a report to ZRP Mkwasine.
Police investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly killed her daughter so she could marry a new boyfriend, who was unwilling to marry her while she had a child.
The victim's body was taken to Chiredzi General Hospital for a post‑mortem.
