Bogus Police Officer Arrested in Harare for Soliciting Bribes

HARARE - Police in Harare have arrested a 31‑year‑old man who was caught impersonating a police officer and soliciting bribes from motorists in the central business district.

According to a statement posted on the police X account, the suspect, Lloyd Chinhoyi, was apprehended on 28 November while dressed in full police uniform.

“On 28 November, Police in Harare arrested Lloyd Chinhoyi (31) in Harare CBD for impersonating a police officer. The suspect was arrested while dressed in police uniform and soliciting bribes from motorists,” police said.

Chinhoyi is expected to face charges of impersonation and corruption.
