Mnangagwa begins annual vacation, VP Mohadi and Chiwenga to act in rotation

HARARE - President Emmerson Mnangagwa has begun his month‑long annual vacation, which he will spend within Zimbabwe, according to a press statement issued by the Office of the President and Cabinet.
The statement, signed by Deputy Chief Secretary for Presidential Communications George Charamba, outlines the delegation of presidential responsibilities during Mnangagwa's absence.
Vice President Kembo Mohadi will act as President from 23 to 31 December 2025. Vice President Constantino Chiwenga will take over from 1 to 13 January 2026. Mohadi will resume acting responsibilities from 14 January until Mnangagwa returns to work in early February.
The announcement comes as the country enters the festive season, with government operations expected to continue under the stewardship of the acting heads of state.
