'Chiefs now Mugabe's auxiliaries'
29 Feb 2016 at 07:07hrs | Views
The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has accused chiefs of becoming agents of coercion for Zanu-PF, contrary to their role of being custodians of national culture and values.
Gorden Moyo, PDP secretary general said the traditional leaders were supporting Zanu-PF and this was imperilling free and fair elections.
Chief Musarurwa however refuted these claims, saying chiefs are apolitical and exist to merely preserve the country.
Thisalso comes as the State has awarded hefty monthly allowances, vehicles and mobile phones to retain their support in elections.
