Bulawayo journalist brutally assaulted by police, still detained

Bulawayo freelance photographer Crispen Ndlovu who was arrested Wednesday for taking pictures of riot police beating activit Alfred Dzirutwe is reportedly to be in bad shape at Bulawayo Central Police Station.

He was also accused of taking pictures of water cannons at Large City Hall car park.

Ndlovu is said to have been savagely beaten by police.

He is charged with criminal nuisance.

Lawyers for human rights made frantic efforts to secure his release last night.
