The Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture should recommend to the relevant authorities to honour one of the greatest sons of Zimbabwe a polished musician of par excellence ever produced in the country, the great Sungura maestro Mr Alick Macheso.

Since 1983 when Alick Macheso joined the music industry he did not turn back or falter in the entertainment industry. He kept on entertaining his audience and always keeping them abreast with information about tackling social issues affecting them.

Macheso is somebody who does not neglect his workmates. With twenty-seven band members whom he works with, the man is a true defination of a leader.

Popularly known as Baba Shero, Macheso has proved to be a father figure who is very humble and who always want to keep glued and connected to his fans, keeping them warm and hopeful in hard times. Just like the late John Chibadura 'Mr Chitungwiza' who used to entertain revellers, he was right on time for his shows so as Macheso who does not want to dissappoint.

He is such a unique  character who loves informing his musical fans of his new musical releases. He respects his fans a lot because he knows that its where hia bread is buttered. Without fans his career is doomed.

Macheso has immensely contributed to the development of music in Zimbabwe and has managed to hold shows across the Sadc region with raves and deserves an honorary degree in his cabinet of awards just like how the government honoured the living Chimurenga guru Thomas Mapfumo and the late Oliver Mtukudzi.

A fountain of knowledge. Just listening to Simbaradzo, Mai VaRubhi, Petunia, Kunyarara Zvavo, Nguva, Kesekana Kwaanakamba, Mundikumbuke the tracks are pregnant with passion of love, selfless, encouragement, determination and will leave one asking for more. A very good example of inner beauty, as soft as wool.

Alick is more than a politician. If Zimbabwe had such kind of politicians who always respect people in the walks of life and understanding that power is derived from the people surely Zimbabwe would be a great nation.

Interestingly Alick Macheso is someone who motivates or inspires people in a peculiar manner through his powerful  lyrics. He is such a great and polished musician who needs no introduction into the music circles. He has enrooted and enlightened a lot of his music fans. The man is really a true living musical legend. We should honour our won people whilst they are still living and give them the respect they deserve.

Macheso and his Orchestra Mberikwazvo have uplifted many family lives through creating employment for their breadwinners.
He is master in this field, where he promotes his orginal language through singing in Chichewa and Nyanjah. Most of his fans have been influenced through his music.

His music transcends to all generations and the ones to come. It is very straightforward where he always encourages the young people to work very hard and shun taking or abusing alcoholic staff. This is very important in every society.
