Chamisa's CCC is a Twitter party of celebrity influencers and shadowy regime change outfits

As MDC-T President, Nelson Chamisa was MDC-A 2018 candidate. MDC-A won 63 Parly seats. In 2019 he became MDC-A President. In 2020 he lost MDC-T presidency in court; @DMwonzora recalled some MDC-A MPs & made his MDC-A. On 24 Jan 2022 Chamisa RENAMED his MDC-A to CCC!
The March 2022 by-elections caught Chamisa napping: keen to dump MDC oldguard and start 'The New' yet unsure how. The by-elections forced his hand when he was not ready. A fierce debate ensued in his MDC-A on whether to contest by-elections as MDC-A or under a new name!
In the debate, Chamisa wanted to contest the March by-elections as MDC-A, as he:
- wanted to boycot by-elections
- was not yet ready for 'The New'
- knew the fight for Tsvangirai's MDC brand was a losing battle, but wanted history to record him as having defended it!
On 23 Jan 2022, Chamisa went to sleep as MDC-A President and woke up on 24 Jan 2022 as CCC President.
Before CCC name was announced on 24 Jan, Chamisa sent two now ex-MDC-A mandarins to submit "CCC constitution" to ZEC; while there, he called them to withdraw!
The CCC constitution Chamisa sought to submit to ZEC on 24 Jan 2022 was a replica of the MDC-A constitution. He withheld it at the 11th hour, when he was alerted he risked giving a new lease of life to a brand, the MDC, he wanted dead; without the blame for it!
At his first CCC March 2022 by-elections rally at Zimbabwe Grounds on 20 Feb 2022, Chamisa said in 'forming CCC', he had "deliberately avoided values and ideology".
Chamisa's "no values and no ideology" mantra was a repudiation of 'MDC-A structures' for 'The New'!
Why did Chamisa repudiate the very same MDC-A structures that catapulted him to the top when they were also the backbone of his "new" CCC?
It is because he was, as he still is, at odds with Tsvangirai's MDC oldguard, whom he thinks did not support him in 2018!
It's telling that since 24 Jan 2022 when CCC's name was announced, no MDC oldguard speaks authoritatively for or about CCC; whose only mouthpieces are: Chamisa, Fadzayi Mahere and Ostallos Siziba.
The fib that CCC was born 24 Jan 2022 shuts out the MDC oldguard!
Under the fib that CCC is a new party born on 24 Jan 2022, Chamisa, Mahere and Ostallos have alienated the MDC oldguard and core base; making CCC a Twitter party of celebrity influencers and shadowy regime change outfits with no presence on the ground!
Tellingly, @nelsonchamisa's structureless run for the presidency in 2023 isn't new or innovative. It was tried by Simba Makoni in 2008, with disastrous results. Like Makoni, Chamisa is only about the presidency & thinks he's more popular than Parly and local govt candidates!
