The MDC president Prof. Welshman Ncube yesterday met with members of the party's Matabeleland South provincial leadership in a robust but cordial and progressive atmosphere.
The meeting was the first of a series of engagements which the president and leadership of the party will undertake in the province for purposes of sharing views, interrogating various opinions and finally arriving at a global understanding and constructive conclusion on all issues pertaining to the province.
Yesterday's meeting was attended by a broad representation which included the province's main wing, women and youth assembly.
The provincial leadership reiterated its commitment to strict adherence to party protocol in all matters of the party and as such the province will only communicate its decisions through the provincial spokesperson, any other voice would be regarded as an individual's opinion not representative of the provincial position.
The provincial leadership further noted and accepted that the national disciplinary committee had, acting within its constitutional mandate, taken a decision in the matter regarding the former provincial chairman, Mr. Petros Mukwena.
The provincial leadership then made an undertaking that after further consultations within the province, a follow up meeting will be held with the party president and national leadership within the month of November 2013 to continue with the internal engagement process.
