Former Dynamos and FC Platinum coach Lloyd Mutasa is among several coaches believed to have applied for the vacant Highlanders job.
Mutasa, sacked by Platinum mid-season, is currently job hunting.
Other coaches who have expressed interest in the job include Mkhuphali Masuku, Mandla Mpofu, Elvis Chiweshe, Philani Ncube, Bongani Mafu and caretaker coach Mark Mathe.
Masuku has previously coached Highlanders while Chiweshe is a former Dynamos coach.
However, sources close to the Bosso executive say the club is keen on a foreign coach.
"Appointment is expected in December, and it's not likely to be a local guy," the source said.
"His assistant, though, will be a local one."
Highlanders have endured a turbulent season, falling out of the title race following a promising start to the season.
Ill-discipline in the team was largely blamed for the loss of form, with senior players making newspaper headlines for all the wrong reasons.
