Race for top honours hots up in Southern Region Division One, Bulawayo Metropolitan Province Division Two and Three as Highlanders send a tough signal that they mean business in the country's elite Castle Lager Premiership this season.

ZRP Bulawayo Province and F.C Kombani Africa continued their impressive start in the Zifa Bulawayo Metropolitan Province Division Two with impressive wins over Highlanders Academy and Khami United. The hoteliers Rainbow F.C kept within a touching distance in an early tussle for promotion into Southern Region Division One with a 2-0 win over FMH Academy.

ZRP Byo Province under the tutelage of long serving Rodgers Ndlovu have had an explosive start in years that might see the return of Division One Football to Ross Camp and what a way to start a campaign with five straight wins.

Old Nic Mine Football Club probably the oldest club in Division Two coached by the once elusive winger and Artisan Fortune Nyambia were the highest scorers over the weekend thumping hapless Zimplow 7-0. Zimplow were coming from an impressive last gasp 3-2 win over Ajax Hotspurs and their tails were up but were brought down to earth with a heavy thud as Old Nic Mine reminded them that they should quickly get off their hangover.

Former Log leaders Ajax Hotspurs returned to their winning ways sending their opponents NRZ Tigers of Plumtree to the cleaners with a 3-0 victory.

Young Gamecocks the "Baby Chicks" are ruling the roost in Division Three taking an early lead to remind their senior side that their are prying on their jerseys in the premiership. Most chicks in their Division are "Digging them" as they assert themselves as promotional hopefuls into Division Two. Casmyn and Corn Cob are breathing heavily like hungry hawks on their necks and they better check their wings.

In the Southern Region Division One, the saints went marching to derail Railstars 2-0 as the former premiership sides battled for pride and honours but eyes are on how How Mine will handle the pressure of leading the log and pressing for a ticket to the country's elite as they demolished ZPC Hwange to stake a claim in the promotional tussle.

Another former premiership outfit Bantu Rovers made a steady rise quietly sneaking in to take second position in the title race. Railstars defeat to Saints saw them drop to third with New West and Tsholotsho Pirates completing that order.
