Corinthians Football Club marks return in style

Corinthians Football Club, a ZIFA Division Two A side based in the resort town of Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe marked their return to the ZIFA Matabeleland North Division Two A league with a 7-0 thumping of Brazil, a fellow Division Two A outfit in a league match played at Mfela Stadium in Victoria Falls on Sunday 11th May.
It was the first match for Corinthians in this year 2014 season as the club managed to get a slot in the league in Round 8 after replacing Hwange-based Rufaro Rovers who were eliminated from the league because of outstanding fees.
Corinthians showed their intentions of a serious mauling by scoring as early as the 2nd minute through a hat-trick hero,in-form striker,Prime Sibanda after a solo run into the box.
The second goal also came from Prime in the 6th minute after an inter-exchange of passes with play-maker Loney Sophela Ncube.
By the 15th minute,the scoreline was 4-0, after Lonely Ncube and Thembalenkosi Mkandabili had scored a goal apiece.
Corinthians goalkeeper,Prince Ndlovu managed to save the resultant spot kick and by halftime ,the score was 5-0 after Thembalenkosi completed his brace in the 43rd minute.In the 52nd minute, Thembalenkosi completed his hat-trick after after an inter-exchange of passes with Prime,to make it 6nil in Corinthians' favour.
Prime Sibanda the completed his hat-trick in the 62nd minute after Brazil goalkeeper failed to deal with a seemingly harmless long range shot from Prime, to make it 7-0.Thereafter, it was a one-way as Corinthians kept on attacking and missed many chances.
Corinthians head coach, Mr Albert Mudimba praised his charges and attributed this victory to the dedication, teamwork of his players and the wonderful support which he gets from his club executive this season.
