The Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) says it is resolving the problem of international roaming between Zambia and Zimbabwe in Livingstone.

Of late, many mobile phone owners in the tourist capital have had their phones switched to international roaming through ECONET of Zimbabwe.

This has resulted into loss of airtime because of high roaming rates.

But ZICTA Acting Director General, Patrick Mutimushi has advised residents of Livingstone to change settings on their mobile phones and go on Manual so that they do not pick ECONET network from Zimbabwe.

Mutimushi was speaking at a public forum organized by ZICTA in Livingstone on Friday evening.

He says Zambia and Zimbabwe are engaged in the issue to see how best it can be addressed.

Zambia and Zimbambwe are due to host the United Nations World Tourism Organisation General Assembly in August.
