THE trial of five Bulawayo Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) activists and two party legislators accused of defacing campaign posters ahead of the August elections has been deferred to December 5.
This was after the State said it was not ready to prosecute the matter.
Tshabalala-Pelandaba legislator Gift Siziba (30) is being charged together with Bulawayo Central MP Surrender Kapoikulu (51), party members Earnest Rafomoyo (55), Tendai Masocha (48), Simbarashe Dube (39) and Lovewell Mwinde.
They appeared before magistrate Tendai Ndokera.
The complainant in the case is Soneni Moyo, a CCC losing candidate in the August 23 elections.
It is the State case that on August 16 at 12 noon, the suspects went to Pelandaba shops and removed Moyo's campaign posters which were plastered on walls and Zesa poles.
The court heard that Moyo reported the matter to the police at Western Commonage, leading to the accused's arrest.
