Prophet Makandiwa abandons car search, flees journalist

Popular self proclaimed Zimbabwe prophet, Emmanuel Makandiwa on Tuesday caused a stir at Zimoco showroom in Harare as he fled from journalist using a backdoor after being spotted and trailed as he was shopping for a new car.
Makandiwa aged 34 of the United Family International Church command the largest congregation in the country.
On Tuesday he had intended to shop for a car and was accompanied by a team of heavily built body guards.
However, journalist had got wind that the preacher was at Zimoco. He was spotted viewing a Mercedes Benz M-Class 350 4matic 2012 model valued at $200 000.
Last week his wife, got a Mercedes Brabus "gift" from female church members. Makandiwa's bodyguard are said to have fought with journalist.
"Please respect his privacy. The man of God is entitled to a private life just like you," one of the bodyguard shouted.
That forced Makandiwa to flee the showroom.
Makandiwa is embroiled in several controversial issues ranging from illegal acquisition of land in Chitungwiza.
