Mazowe North Member of Parliament Campion Takura Mugweni (ZANU PF) was on Sunday booed at a party District Co-ordinating Committee (DCC) rally in Mvurwi.
Mugweni was booed after trying to explain developmental projects in his constituency.
Despite coming late for the rally Mugweni was given time to give welcoming remarks by DCC chairperson Tafadzwa Musarara and explain how the party was moving with development in his constituency.
Angry supporters denounced Mugweni accusing him of neglecting other wards which did not vote for him.
"As your MP l am going to give you incubators for poultry projects and grinding mills which will be at your disposal for free," Mugweni told the gathering but was cut short by booing supporters.
"You give empty promises and in other wards people do not even know you stop lying to the electorate," shouted party supporters.
Mugweni tried to easy the charged supporters by chanting slogans but the supporters did not listen to him.
Musarara then reminded people that the meeting was meant to solve problems and get President Emmerson Mnangagwa in office in the looming elections.
"Let me remind you that we are not here to scold each other but to correct mistakes and get votes for the President please allow the MP to talk calm down please," begged Musarara.
Mugweni did not take long after the pandemonium and gave Musarara the floor to speak.
Mazowe DCC is already campaigning for Mnangagwa and have declared the district a no go area for the opposition.
