The Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) has announced a partnership with Zororo Phumulani, who will serve as the official transport partner for the Warriors as they prepare for their crucial Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Kenya this Friday.
As the Warriors gear up for the match, players began assembling in Polokwane, South Africa, yesterday, with locally based players already in camp. The arrival of European-based players is expected today, and the full squad should be in camp by tomorrow, ahead of the key fixture.
Zifa has been pulling out all stops to ensure the best possible conditions for the team as they seek to secure qualification for next year's AFCON finals in Morocco. A draw in Friday's match will be enough for Zimbabwe to secure a spot at the continental competition.
The partnership with Zororo Phumulani, a leading transport company, will provide the Warriors with seamless and comfortable travel during their stay in South Africa. Zororo Phumulani will supply a 60-seater luxury coach for the team, along with three additional support vehicles to accommodate the Warriors and their support staff.
In a statement, Zifa confirmed the deal, expressing their satisfaction with the new partnership: "Zifa is pleased to announce Zororo Phumulani as the official transport partner for the Warriors during their upcoming stay in South Africa for the AFCON qualifiers against Kenya. The luxury coach and support vehicles will ensure that the Warriors and support staff travel in comfort and style, providing a safe and relaxing environment as they prepare for this crucial match."
Tendai Mangoti, the head of marketing at Zororo Phumulani, expressed the company's pride in supporting the national team: "As a proudly Zimbabwean brand, we are thrilled to support the Warriors in their journey to represent the nation on an international stage. Providing the team with comfort and ease of travel aligns with our commitment to caring for our community, and we are honoured to play a part in helping them perform at their best."
Zifa CEO Yvonne Manwa also praised the partnership, highlighting its importance for the team's preparations. "Having such reliable transport arrangements allows our players and staff to focus on their preparations without worry. This partnership not only enhances the comfort of our team but also shows the strength of community and business backing for Zimbabwean sport," she said.
As the Warriors head into this crucial qualifier, the backing from Zororo Phumulani is expected to provide the team with the necessary support to secure a positive result and continue their journey toward the AFCON finals in Morocco.
