ZBC receives 25 vehicles, radio and TV equipment

Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister, Dr. Jenfan Muswere, has officially commissioned 25 new vehicles and state-of-the-art equipment aimed at enhancing radio and television transmission for the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC).
The equipment, valued at over US$2 million, was secured through a collaboration between the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development, and Investment Promotion, the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, and a private donor. This donation is part of an ongoing effort to recapitalize and modernize the national broadcaster.
The new equipment includes playback servers, vision and audio consoles, cameras, and information communication technology (ICT) equipment. These additions are expected to significantly enhance both production quality and transmission efficiency, improving the overall broadcasting experience for Zimbabweans.
Minister Muswere emphasized the strategic importance of the donation, saying it would not only improve day-to-day operations but also play a crucial role in restoring the viability of ZBC as a key media player in the country.
"This donation is a crucial step in restoring the operational capacity of ZBC, ensuring that it remains a competitive and sustainable media organization," said Muswere during the commissioning ceremony.
The state broadcaster, which has faced numerous challenges over the years, is expected to benefit significantly from this infusion of new technology. By enhancing its infrastructure and production capabilities, the ZBC will be better equipped to provide high-quality content and improve service delivery to Zimbabwe's diverse population.
