Munetsi back for Rwanda clash

The Zimbabwe senior national soccer team will face Rwanda on Tuesday in a 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Group C encounter at Orlando Stadium, buoyed by the return of vice-captain Marshal Munetsi.

The Warriors' hopes of reaching the World Cup were dashed on Friday night following a 1-0 defeat to Benin in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. Despite the setback, coach Michael Nees' side will be looking to close their qualifying campaign on a high note.

Tuesday's match provides Zimbabwe with an opportunity to restore pride and build momentum ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Morocco this December.

Munetsi, who missed the Benin game due to suspension after accumulating yellow cards, is back in contention and could prompt Nees to reshuffle the starting line-up.

Zimbabwe continues to play its "home" matches in South Africa as the country still lacks a CAF-approved stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 6pm at Orlando Stadium.
