A 29-YEAR-OLD Chitungwiza man yesterday appeared before provincial magistrate Mr Lazarus Murendo facing charges of rape.
He was remanded in custody and advised to make a bail application at the High Court.
Prosecutor Mr Norman Koropi heard that on September 1, the accused allegedly raped one of his toddler nieces while the other stood in line for the same fate on her.
The toddlers are aged three years 10 months and three years six months respectively.
It is alleged that the uncle and the two toddlers stay together at their Chitungwiza home.
The court heard that on September 1, the minors were playing in their mother's bedroom when their uncle joined them.
It is alleged that the uncle removed the two minors' panties and his trousers before making one of the complainants lie on the bed.
The court heard that he raped the first complainant while the other one stood beside the bed watching with her panties off.
He was disturbed by his 11-year-old niece who walked in on him and he ordered her not to tell anyone, the court heard.
The 11-year-old reported the matter leading to the uncle's arrest.
He is set to appear in court on September 9.
In a separate case, a sex-starved man yesterday pleaded with a Harare court to order his wife to grant him his conjugal rights which she had been denying him for the past year.
Zivai Kungora accused his wife, Tirusida Rangarirai, of depriving him of his marital rights and verbally abusing him in their home after he was caught with another woman.
Kungora, who was seeking a protection order against Rangarirai, told civil court magistrate Ms Yeukai Dzuda that he was being subjected to abuse by Rangarirai over the incident.
Kungora also told the court that his wife was stubborn and greedy, since she had taken all the property from their house and left it at her rural home.
Rangarirai said she was punishing Kungora for having a girlfriend and that is the one he should enjoy sex with.
"I am refusing to sleep with him because of his girlfriend," she said, adding: "This is why I took the property in the house, he should pay."
Rangarirai claimed it was Kungora who assaulted her after he returned from his girlfriend.
She denied all charges of emotionally abusing Kungora.
