Accepting abnormality as normal in Zimbabwe

01 Aug 2019 at 13:16hrs | Views
The ruling Zanu-PF party has mastered the art of destruction since the early 80s.The year 1980, when all Zimbabweans rejoiced for a country free from colonial oppression marked the path of destruction by Zanu-PF which continues to the present day.

Roads were well surfaced.
Clean water came out of our taps.
Electricity was in constant supply unless there was a major breakdown.
Education was affordable and the teachers enthusiastic about imparting knowledge to learners.
All streets including in high density surbubs had street lights.
A relative would come from the village and within a week he would be working in one of the local industries.

The list goes on. No one had a desire for a passport as Zimbabwe had everything, people flocked into Zimbabwe from neighbouring states. This was Zimbabwe, termed the 'bread basket of Africa', now importing virtually everything because the lndustries are no longer there .

This has become the normal life as abnormality has been accepted by people whose dreams have been shattered and stolen by a regime only concerned about self enrichment. Corruption has been perfected by Zanu-PF and their cronies.

Elections ,one of the cornerstone,of democracy are just but an event to legitimize a regime long voted out of power but clinging on.

The removal of Mugabe would fool people that Zimbabwe would claim its status as the bread basket of Africa.

This was not so as Mugabe was replaced by another administration ,equally corrupt if not more. The junta leader promised a raft of changes non of which have been implemented. His only concern is to remain in power .

Zimbabwe has been transformed into an ancient state as all signs associated with ancient states are being witnessed.

Learners will never know a cheque book. They will never know how some products are manufactured. mln our day there were school trips to various lndustries, now what they only know are flea markets selling second hand clothes.

After years of learning they will join other unemployed youths were indulgence of cheap liquors smuggled into Zimbabwe is now a common thing as there is nothing to do.

Zanu-PF has made us accept this abnormality telling us they are fixing the economy. Day in day out we hear of bilateral aggrements signed,Memorandum of Aggrements with other states but no results are seen.

Zanu-PF boast they brought us lndependance, why can't they accept they have brought us this suffering were suicide is now common ,people risking to leave Zimbabwe. Enough is enough.
