ZIFA president Philip Chiyangwa's international profile continues to grow after he was appointed to the marketing committee of the Confederation of Southern African Football Associations.
The Harare property mogul will be part of the COSAFA marketing committee until next year when the COSAFA executive committee meets.
Chiyangwa's appointment was revealed in a letter sent by COSAFA secretary-general, Sue Dostembos, to ZIFA chief executive, Jonathan Mashingaidze.
"With reference to previous correspondence and, in particular your letter dated 6th January 2016, we are pleased to confirm that the following appointments to the COSAFA Standing Committees have been made for the period January 2016 through to the date of the first Executive Committee Meeting of 2017," Dostembos wrote.
"Marketing Committee: Dr Philip Chiyangwa; Finance Committee, Mr Phillemon Machana.
"The reason for the short-term appointment is that the COSAFA Executive Committee Elections will take place in South Africa in December 2016.
"At the first meeting of the newly-elected Executive Committee in 2017, the appointments of the Standing Committees for the period 2017 to 2019 will be discussed as an Agenda item.
"On behalf of the President of COSAFA, Mr Suketu Patel, we welcome Messrs Chiyangwa and Machana to their respective Committees."
Chiyangwa has already surprised many of his domestic critics with the way he has superbly led ZIFA since he was given a unanimous mandate by the Association's Councillors on December 5 to replace Cuthbert Dube.
He has already ensured that Zimbabwe avoid expulsion from the 2022 World Cup after the Association's partner, Wicknell Chivayo, paid the $180 000 debt that was owed to Belgian coach Tom Saintfiet for his short flirtation with the Warriors.
Chivayo has also come on board to bankroll the salary of Warriors' coach Callisto Pasuwa while also acquiring a brand new vehicle for the gaffer who is expected to name his team for the 2017 Nations Cup qualifiers against Swaziland this week.
