The Zimbabwe Red Cross Society (ZRCS) is providing free COVID-19 vaccines among other health services at the on-going Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF).
The global business conference kicked off in Bulawayo on Monday and is running under the theme ‘Embracing the new normal among for business and industry: Realities and opportunities.'
President Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to officially open the ZITF today.
ZRCS through its Red Cross Clinic in Harare has been rolling out free COVID-19 vaccines in support of the government accelerated and decentralised 60% head immunity vaccination drive.
Elias Hwenga, ZRCS Secretary General said the organisation has deployed a team of medical doctors and nurses to provide COVID-19 vaccinations within the exhibition centre.
Hwenga said first aid action teams are also at the ZITF responding to first aid casualties.
"As an auxiliary to government and a humanitarian player whose sole mandate is to serve humanity, providing heath and first aid services at ZITF and other national events is in sync with our mandate and mission," Hwenga said.
