Goods train derails in Kadoma

In the early hours of this morning, a dramatic derailment occurred when an NRZ goods train came off the tracks near Jangano, just outside the busy Central Business District of the gold-rich city. Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene as the train veered off course, plunging into a waterlogged section of the railway line.

Initial reports suggest that the recent heavy rains may have contributed to the incident, possibly weakening the ground beneath the tracks and causing the derailment. However, the exact cause of the accident remains under investigation by authorities and NRZ officials.

Despite the dramatic nature of the accident, authorities have confirmed that no injuries or fatalities have been reported. Emergency teams were quick to respond, and work is already underway to assess the damage and clear the wreckage. NRZ officials have assured the public that efforts are being made to restore normal operations on the affected railway line.

The derailment has raised concerns about the state of infrastructure in the region, with some locals speculating that weather-related wear and tear on the tracks may have played a role. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether additional measures will be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.

For now, the city's transport network remains largely unaffected, with trains rerouted as necessary while NRZ crews work around the clock to restore normal service.
