Maid dumps newly born baby in a field

POLICE in Mazowe are looking for Chipo Katena who killed her newly born baby and dumped him in a maize field last week.
The body of the baby was discovered by Margret Jairos who spotted Katena dumping the it in a maize field and filed a police report.
Katena who was working for Yvone Maredza (34) as a maid fled from Mazowe and is nowhere to be seen.
Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Inspector Milton Mundembe confirmed the case.
"We are appealing for information which can lead to the arrest of Katena,anyone with information should report to the nearest police station," Mundembe said.
The body of the deceased has since been sent to Concession hospital for safe keeping.
Police warned women not to conceal their birth but seek maintenance from the courts if the men responsible for the pregnancies refuse to take care of their babies.
