A parking marshal was left nursing bruises after he was dragged into a car before he was kicked and punched by three unknown men for filming them while they were illegally unclamping their car.
The victim, Brian Sibanda (25), is employed as a parking marshal by Tendy Three Investments.
A source who witnessed the incident said three unknown men who were travelling in a Mazda with a registration number AEK 8017 parked their car near a supermarket situated between 9 Avenue and Leopold Takawira Street.
They paid for the parking space before they parked their car in a parking bay.
They started to wash their car and that is against the Bulawayo City Council by-laws, accordingly their car was clamped.
After that they went to pay for the fine at the City Council offices.
They were told that a responsible official would come and unclamp their car. But it is said the council official took too long to come to unclamp their car, so they took it upon themselves to unclamp their car.
While they were busy unclamping it, Brian filmed them and unfortunately one of the men spotted him and dashed to him.
"He pounced on him while he was busy glued on his phone capturing the video. He dragged him (Brian) into their car, and they drove off.
They slapped and kicked him," said the source.
He screamed for help, after driving for about 200 metres they stopped their car and pushed him out.
Brian said: "They assaulted me and forcibly took US$30 which belongs to the company. They ordered me to delete the video clip"
Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident and said investigations are in progress.
