Thousands turn out for ZANU PF by-election campaign in Tjankwa

It was a hive of activity at Nyabane Primary school Primary School on Saturday where thousands of ZANU PF supporters turned up for a rally to show support for Kossam Ndlovu who will represent the party in Tjankwa ward 1 by-election which will be held on the 3rd of September.

The rally was attended by the Provincial Chairperson and Member of Parliament for Bulimia East constituency who is also the Minister of Environment, Climate, Tourism, and Hospitality Industry Mangaliso Ndlovu who was the main speaker.

Speaking at the event Ndlovu said, "I am happy that you came out in your numbers for this event. Your numbers are a clear sign that the party is winning this election."

Ndlovu took the opportunity the highlight the development programs that the party has implemented in the District, Province, and the entire country.

"In this district, since ZANU PF took over power, we have seen a lot of development happening. Following your cries, this school was built, the clinic you are seeing was built, and boreholes have been drilled all over the district.

"As we speak now President Emmerson Mnangagwa donated 30 computers to Skhathini High School as part of his empowerment program that seeks to escalate computer literacy and access in all corners of the country. We have also decided that our primary school children should Skhathini school to learn how to use computers at a tender age."

He added that the party under the leadership of President Mnangagwa has taken a decision to send young people from the area to different universities in the country and we are also sending 50 people from this area periodically to study driving lessons."

Ndlovu informed the gathering that under the new dispensation, the government has built a state-of-the-art Beitbridge border post, is finishing the Gwayi-Shangani dam, created the best Parliament building in Africa, and has rehabilitated roads and infrastructure.

The event was attended by senior Provincial ZANU PF members including Umzingwane MP Retired Brigadier-General Levi Mayihlome, Edgar Moyo Deputy Minister for Primary and Secondary Education, Washington Nkomo also made it to become the Political Commissar for Matabeleland south among others.



Leading academic and media mogul Dr. Qhubani Moyo also attended the event.


There will be four polling stations in Ward 1. These are Nyabane Primary school, Sheila Farm Tent, Skhathini Clinic, and Skhathini High School.
