Headmistress under fire

Parents and guardians of Brandon Secondary School have petitioned the Ministry of Education to reign in on the school headmistress Anna Gora whom they accuse of mismanaging the school, including financial embezzlement.
In a leaked letter dated 11 November addressed to the Ministry of Education, parents accused the headmistress of misusing agricultural machinery and outputs. The parents also accuse the headmistress of always hopping from one ZANU-PF meeting to the other, while abandoning her work.
"The agriculture teacher and SDC committee members have no total control of livestock, machinery and the bumper harvests at the school," reads part of the letter.
"She is strictly abusing school funds for her selfish gains. Last year, she refused to buy sports kits and squandered the money in Victoria falls."
The parents added: "She leaves school business for ZANU-PF campaigns, and we are kindly asking for the Ministry of Education to act."
It is further alleged that she boasts of political power since she is Mashonaland Central vice chairperson Christopher Magomo's ally.
Magomo is eying Guruve South seat in the 2023 general elections.
