Cellphone robbers face sentencing

Two Plumtree men, Thomas Ndlovu (20) and Oncemore Mungombe (19), are set to be sentenced on November 22nd for allegedly robbing a pedestrian of his cellphone.
Magistrate Joshua Nembaware remanded the duo in custody after they appeared before him accused of stealing a mobile phone valued at $200 from Prosper Ngwenya on October 31st.
According to the state, led by Selestine Madziwa, the incident happened around 1 am as Ngwenya was returning home from a bar. The accused allegedly confronted Ngwenya and demanded his phone. When Ngwenya complied and attempted to flee, he was reportedly struck on the hand with a half brick.
Ngwenya filed a police report, leading to the arrest of the two suspects.
