6 dead after bus travelling from Botswana to Harare overturns in Gweru

Tragedy struck early this morning when a Hungwe bus travelling from Botswana to Harare overturned at the Fairmile roundabout in Gweru, claiming six lives.

The accident occurred around 6AM, sending shockwaves through the Midlands capital as emergency services rushed to the scene to attend to the injured and retrieve bodies from the wreckage.

Preliminary reports indicate that the bus overturned while navigating the roundabout under unclear circumstances. Authorities are yet to confirm the cause, but eyewitnesses suspect the driver may have lost control of the vehicle.

The identities of the deceased have not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin. Several other passengers sustained varying degrees of injuries and were rushed to Gweru Provincial Hospital for treatment.
