Harare Councillors and directors snub 2026 budget announcement

The announcement of the City of Harare's 2026 budget was marked by low attendance on Thursday, with only 35 officials present in a hall designed to seat more than 200 people.

Most chairs remained empty as councillors and senior directors failed to attend the event.

Only a handful of junior officials and staff members filled the front rows, while seats reserved for top administrators were largely unoccupied.
