Most men have always said being denied conjugal rights by one's wife is cruelty and one man from Bulawayo's Iminyela suburb for the same reasons terminated his 15-year marriage.
Kenneth Khumalo has been sexually starved for five years by his wife Flatah Ndlovu and he finally got to a point where he said he cannot take it anymore.
He sought help from the courts making it clear that he was no longer interested in the woman and wanted them to go separate ways.
"I have been customarily married to Flatah Ndlovu for 15 years and in the past five years we have never been intimate as she always refuses without explaining.
"She is also in the habit of beating me up over petty issues and I have visible scars to prove that the woman is abusing me.
"She provokes me a lot and my patience has been overstretched that I can no longer take it anymore," said Khumalo.
He further revealed that he wants out of the relationship as the woman is a bully who does not even respect him and the children.
"There are always arguments in the presence of the children such that there is no peace at home. I do not wish to discuss or do anything that may lead to any agreement from today onwards. Whenever she needs to see children, they will visit her," he said.
In response, Ndlovu confirmed that they have marital problems.
"I agree that we have problems and we always fight but it is not true that I denied him conjugal rights for five years. He refused to use protection causing fights between us," he said.
Western Commonage magistrate Stephen Ndlovu granted an interim order and the two will stay away from each other.
