FIVE Mozambican nationals are languishing in remand prison after they were charged for entering the country without valid travel documents.

Magriti Gama (67), Jenifa Abilio(32), Judita Abilio (27), Selima Luis(24) and Miguel Americo (33) are charged with violating the Immigration Act.

They appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Nomasiko Ndlovu yesterday and were remanded in custody to October 7.

Prosecutors said on September 23 at around 7pm, police got information that there were foreigners staying at house number 392 Nguboyenja, Bulawayo.

They proceeded to the house in the company of an immigration officer and found the foreign nationals under the care of their relative called Sinoia Sibanda.

The five had no documents to prove their entry into the country and this led to their arrest.
