Woman scalds man's privates with boiling water

A 25-year-old woman from Chivi was arrested on charges of attempted murder after allegedly pouring a pot of scalding boiling water over a man, targeting his stomach and genitals, in a violent dispute over an empty beer bottle.

The attack occurred on the morning of September 17, 2025, at the George Magura Bar in Chiwadza Business Center, leaving the local community shocked. Masvingo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed that the victim sustained serious injuries. The case was reported to the Chivi police on September 19, and the suspect, Charity Chaka, was arrested the following day.

According to sources, the incident began when Chaka confronted Kamurai Tachi, who was drinking with a friend, demanding the return of an empty bottle he had taken the previous day. Tachi assured her that a friend would return the bottle, but the exchange escalated after Chaka slapped him. Tachi retaliated with a slap before walking away.

In a premeditated act of revenge, Chaka returned to the bar around 8:30 AM with a pot of boiling water. She poured the water over Tachi as he stood at the bar, causing severe burns to his stomach and private parts. The victim was rushed to Chivi Hospital for emergency treatment and is currently recovering.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage and fear, highlighting how a seemingly minor disagreement can escalate into a violent and life-altering crime.
