Devine Mhambi-Hove, founder and president of the Nationalists Alliance Party and former deputy chairperson of Polad's international relations and re-engagement committee, has been acquitted of theft, malicious damage to property, and contempt of court charges.

Mhambi-Hove was initially convicted at a magistrates' court following a full trial, despite pleading not guilty to all charges. He subsequently filed an appeal at the High Court.

On September 15, 2025, the High Court in Bulawayo, presided over by Justices Evangelista Kabasa and Bongani Ndhlovu, upheld his appeal under case number HCB CR3193/25. The court ruled that the appeal on each count succeeded, quashing the lower court's judgment and setting aside the sentence previously imposed.

Court documents stated that on August 5, 2022, at Basement Bar, Mhambi-Hove was accused of unlawfully taking property belonging to Trust Muteedzi. He faced additional charges of malicious damage to a counter, VIP lounge, and stage at the bar, and contempt of court for allegedly violating a court order denying the complainant access to the Duly Motors basement.

With the High Court's ruling, Mhambi-Hove has been found not guilty on all counts and is fully acquitted.
