HARARE - As ZANU-PF party's Central Committee meeting (today) and national annual conference draw nearer, the Harare provincial chairperson Goodwills Masimirembwa has pleaded with decision-making authorities to accept businessman, Kudakwashe Tagwirei's co-option and the revival of President Emmerson's term extension to 2030 (beyond maximum constitutional term limit).

Masimirembwa revisited the call during an interview before the commencement of this Thursday's central committee meeting where expectations are high in deliberating on Tagwirei's co-option fate and persuasion for Mnangagwa to deliberately and diplomatically breach the party's constitution (accepting resolution number 1) by presiding over party affairs for quite long.

"As Harare province, we unanimously made our request for Comrade Kudakwashe Tagwirei's co-option and we pleaded with all responsible authorities thereof. We beg those involved in making final decisions to make sure they consider our plea for his co-option into the party," Masimirembwa said.

"It is important to note that his co-option should be considered ordinary not extra-ordinary since it has been the norm with other previous co-option. This therefore means that his co-option should be normal and like any other previous co-options, so our expectations are high that they will finally consider our plea," Masimirembwa added.

"Also, it is important to note that we are not stopping or pausing from our calls for President Mnangagwa to continue leading us beyond 2028, hence the need to realise that we are expecting him to lead until 2030 or more. We are pushing for revival of resolution number one (1) to be continuously made," Masimirembwa added.

"President Mnangagwa should lead us, he should make sure his vision 2030 is implemented by him not anyone else. President has the monopoly to preside over all affairs until 2030 and beyond," Masimirembwa said.
