The Anglican Diocese of Manicaland has petitioned the government for land to build additional schools in the province, citing increasing demand for enrolment.

The diocese operates 54 schools in Manicaland, including top performers such as St Faith Mission and St David's Bonda Girls, which consistently lead in Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council (Zimsec) and Cambridge Advanced and Ordinary Level examinations.

Known for high pass rates, holistic education, and strong focus on student well-being, the diocesan schools have invested heavily in infrastructure, including new school buses to facilitate educational tours and reduce travel costs. Their curriculum integrates Christian values, sports, cultural activities, and leadership development.

Bishop Eric Ruwona said the diocese is planning to construct more boarding schools to accommodate growing enrolments. "We have approached government to provide more land for school construction because we face pressure every year during enrolment," he said.

Ruwona added that schools are fully prepared for the 2025 examinations. "Our teachers are busy, and students are excited ahead of end-of-year exams. We are in the final lap, so to speak, and I believe everyone, including lower grades, is ready," he said.

The diocese has been widely praised for its dedication to providing quality education in Manicaland.
